Gianicolo Walk and Trastevere Food and Wine Tasting From the top of panoramic Gianicolo Hill to the trattorias of Trastevere, this 2.5-hour tour will introduce participants to the food, history, and vistas of the Eternal City. Guests will begin at the Faro degli Italiani, a picturesque lighthouse midway up Gianicolo Hill. From there they will stroll up the Passeggiata del Gianicolo to the top of the hill, where they will have time to admire the view and take in their surroundings. The tour continues on foot to the Fontana dell’Acqua Paola and the Church of San Pietro in Montorio—the latter of which features extraordinary frescoes and Renaissance art and is considered the template of St. Peter’s Basilica. Guests will then proceed through the historic Trastevere neighborhood, where they will visit a traditional wine bar and enjoy an array of local delicacies and a glass of wine.
